He looked up from eating and raised an eyebrow at her, a little confused that she would expect more to have happened to him while he was awake. He really wasn't allowed to be functional for too long, but he accepted that it was part of his vitality and rarity. He learned quickly, was deadly and effective, but he was also controlled. He wasn't given an option to be anything more than that really, and waking up here was much the same thing aside from the occasional novel that he was given.

"In the beginning, I think." He thought because he didn't remember that far back. Way way back was just a haze of dull sphere he didn't touch, full of pain and fear and fury. He forced himself to take another measured bite, chewing even though it really wasn't necessary. "I was modified when I malfunctioned." Like a robot was reprogrammed after getting a virus or working outside of set parameters.

"Because you don't stay long and when you do something, someone comes to take you away and you don't come back for awhile," he remarked simply, placing the observation out there. "I eat it. That's what I'm supposed to do." What was this about liking it?
