He supposed it wasn't within him to have a vain hope that they might put him back under and spare him having to pace a cage all day and night. He had never hoped for such a thing before and to be honest, he couldn't remember the last time he had sought and hoped for something in the first place. Still, cryostasis was something that was familiar and at this point, his existence was anything but something he was familiar with.
"No... I suppose they don't know how to do it correctly anyway," he muttered softly, letting hope die with it. He would remain awake and part of this place for as long as they decided he was worth keeping or until they could perhaps wipe him clean. No... he had to be vulnerable to use against her because she seemed sincere in wanting to care for him or at least be close to him. He was just a card to play right now.
He nodded at the idea that he had been a child before, something so far in the past he couldn't even imagine right now. "Maybe I'll remember that soon," he murmured with a shift of his shoulders. He looked at her, a frown of misery appearing before he bobbed his head a little. "Whatever... you think is best. You're... the only thing I know."
