LMAO the warning tho. MAYBE SEX??? MAYBE?? it's a mystery

[ He'd heard that an extreme betrayal could actually break pre-existing bonds. That if something so awful were to happen like that, it'd snap it in two and you'd have two halves of a whole. It sure as hell felt like it when he realized he'd been played this whole time. It didn't matter they'd kept things quiet - Natasha'd figured it out quickly enough, and when everything went down, she'd only squeezed his shoulder long enough for him to know what she meant by it.

Sam knew, too, arguably. He might not've known who, but he knew enough to know that when SHIELD fell, whoever Steve'd met was HYDRA. For a bit, he'd hoped it was Sharon, but he'd realized that wasn't true not long after and Steve hadn't said a single word about it.

After the fight, after he'd finally escaped his own hospital bed, and gone to see Rumlow, and well. That was indication enough for everyone else to figure it out, as far as Fury, Sharon and Sam went. He hated the pitying looks he'd gotten at first, and steered the subject as far away as he could. He couldn't just stay away from Rumlow; they'd tried that. While this arguably should have broken the bond, it hadn't and it wasn't like Steve could do much about it short of killing him, but the bond wouldn't let him do that, either. So they were stuck in limbo. Steve wouldn't go to prison with him, and Rumlow couldn't get sent to prison without it negatively effecting Steve, so they were left with the equivalent of house arrest, with Steve standing in Rumlow's kitchen, arms crossed, lips pressed in a thin line. ]

What were you going to do? If I found out before everything happened?
