Ward frowned, inwardly cursing himself for letting his guard down. Taking a deep breath, he let inout slowly as he set down his weapon. It was of no use to him in pieces. And anyway, he wouldn't shoot his bond.

"Maybe I am?" Tilting his head, he turned and gazed up at Brock. He didn't smile, didn't show any emotion on his face as he took in the man before him. "Maybe I just like to be ready?"
