She knew that she was going to crack first, just the same as she knew she should already have walked away. But she wasn't to the breaking point yet, and had no plans on reaching it today, even though she actually had to bite her tongue to keep from answering that first question.

Because she knew that while he wouldn't drop everything, he would at least drop some of it to find a way to help her, or at least look for some way to make it easier. Or maybe to find someone to try and knock Rumlow off before either of them gave in.
