Aside from voicing cries of pain or incoherent slurring, he hadn't given voice to much since he had come awake. He couldn't remember when he had come awake, no real identification of time save that it came with pain most of the time or left him in a groggy fog that were mostly flashing lights, blurred faces and the whirl of various instruments that sounded all too loud for him. Confusion was another part of his life, if he could consider what he was doing actual living.

Yet, there was something of the warmth on the other side of the bars where he had curled, something that nagged at a part of his mind that was considered stolen from him. It was a deep pit of nothingness there, empty. He had skill knowledge, language knowledge, tactics, but his memories on how he had gotten those things were gone, stolen away in a very precise way of damage to key areas of his brain. Familiarity felt foreign to him, but it still drew him like a moth to flame.

He ached, but he was aware on his peripheral senses of the heat of another body close by. It took the edge off of some of his shivering, and his head jerked up at the sudden press of a hand in his messy dark hair. He leaned more into the cold bars and peered blurrily at the person on the other side, the familiar one, the other source of warmth in an otherwise cold environment. It was a man like him, bigger of bone and flesh but blond with bright blue eyes. He didn't recognize the man, not with a name or an identity but he felt a surge of familiarity.

"Y-you," he replied hoarsely, his own voice cracking with disuse. Without considering the possibility of injury, his only hand slipped through the bars, curling around the small of the man's back. "Warm."
