His eyes followed Stephanie as she moved, tracking her location as she came closer and even rummaged in the back of the car where he sat. He only cast occasional glances in the direction of Sam, for now figuring the man an inconvenience but not an active threat to him. The man carried little in the way of weapons after all, and with so little movement to get at Steve, he deigned to mostly ignore the man, which was his version of being nice anyway.
He frowned at the clothes that he was handed, wondering what was wrong with his own clothing. It was useable and fit him, but he supposed the vest was a give away on who and what he was. "This uniform is all I have; I won't lose it," he clarified as he sat forward and opened his vest with clean movements. There was sense if decency with Hydra; weapons didn't have a choice when they were laid bare, so he removed it and kept one eye on Stephanie changing nearby. He pulled on the white t-shirt and flexed his shoulders, given it wasn't entirely his size. The jeans were also more confining than he was used to, but he accepted them as he reached up and gathered his long hair at the back of his head and tied it off with a piece of fabric so it no longer hung in his face. Once he set the ballcap on his head, he looked remotely like a different person, less of a killer.
He narrowed his eyes to move to the passenger seat, not certain what the problem was sitting in the back. It seemed like a pointless order, and he stared hard at her for making it even as he stepped out of the car in his new clothing to move to where she told him to. He didn't entirely bridle under her orders, but he was still getting used to having to watch her move around freely. He stood by the passenger's seat when she gave the wingman a hug, and a pang of jealousy, cold and furious, curled in his belly. He watched for a moment longer, wondering how he hadn't earned such affection when he had given her his everything without a need for anything in return.
Slowly, he seated himself in the passenger's seat and crossed one leg over the other after shutting the door. He glanced at Stephanie only once before going back to looking out the window, tracking the movements of the retreating man. "Do as you please."
Let's hope that statement doesn't become very accurate
