He shifted in to wedge into the new reality that he wanted to create for them to be together. There was so much that they could offer each other, stability, structure, the means to create the ultimate chaos together. He shifted his hands higher up on Steve's thighs so he was ever closer, crowding in as protective a way as he could manage without actually standing over Steve.
"We all make our choices, and to belittle the choice I made when I knew the risk is to refuse to acknowledge the sacrifice that I made," he whispered firmly. He knew only that he had fallen to cold and snow, but that he had known the risk going in. The time, the place, the reasons went beyond him. "I made a promise. Let me keep it. Let me kill for you."
