There's nothing in this world quite like a true, blue best friend that you can rely on. They've been with you through thick and thin, good and bad. You want to have fun? They're the first person you look for, because they always know how to bring the best out in you. You need a shoulder to cry on? Don't worry, they're already here. You need to bury a body? ...you should probably reconsider your priorities, but you know your best friend will be there with a shovel and a smile. You'd never ruin this friendship for ANYTHING in the world.

Something's brewing that may do just that, though. One of you has feelings, has for a long time, and that spells trouble. Unless you keep that to yourself and remain platonic, of course. Repression in this case might be a good thing.

Only it's too late. The cat's out of the bag, whether it's by confession or by accident. What to do, what to do? If feelings aren't returned, can you turn down a friend, or will you force something that isn't there just to make them happy? If feelings are returned, will you risk changing the perfect thing you have?

Steve was not about to look a gift horse in mouth, and lowered his mouth to James, in a breath stealing, all out tongue war, beforee pulling back, grinning. He slid off the couch, and have Bucky's hand a hard tug.

"Come on, we need more space for what I want to do with you."

He moaned softly into the kiss, finding it funny how quick Steve picked up on stuff when given a chance to. That was all his friend ever needed, and he was more than willing to give that chance too. Besides, if Steve was this good at kissing already, what about other things?

He reluctantly let his friend go and allowed himself to be pulled off the couch too. He followed, raising an eyebrow at the boldness.

"Look at you taking control all of a sudden. You have my interest for sure now."

Steve turned around so he was walking backwards, grinning at James. "You have a problem with that?" He asked, as he pulled him forward and into another kiss.

He pulled back a little as they entered the bedroom.

"Promise me you will tell me if you want to stop?"

"Nope, none at all, Stevie," James replied with his usual charming smile as he followed his friend towards the bedroom. He swore that Steve knew the way better than he did sometimes, though there was no need to think about it they kissed again, and he buried his fingers into the hair at the back of Steve's neck.

He stayed close after that, their knees knocking or brushing with each step.

"I promise, but the same goes for you."

Steve laughed softly as they kissed. "I promise too, and you know that I never break a promise to you." He pulled him against his body, kissing him, as if his life depended on it, and maybe it did.

"If this is a dream, don't wake me up okay?"

In the bedroom, he paused long enough to kick the door closed before following again without hesitation with the kisses. He still cupped the back of Steve's head as they moved, letting his best friend direct them to where Steve wanted to go, which he suspected was the bed.

"I won't wake you, but it isn't a dream either," he murmured against Steve's lips as he slipped a hand up to grasp his friend's tie, tugging it open.

Steve fisted his hands in Bucky's shirt, needing him somehow closer than he already was although he didn't know if that was humanly possible.

He started working on the buttons as he walked them towards the bed. "You get to set the rules here, okay?" He said softly. "What do you want James?"

He knew that itch to be close well, though it had never invaded him as it was currently doing with Steve. He shifted his hands to unbutton Steve's shirt as well, though it was an act he had done often when Steve was too sick to do it himself sometimes. It was more than routine now, his fingers played over the buttons affectionately.

"Me?" He chuckled and leaned down to nibble up the length of Steve's jaw. "I think I have a little more experience in these activities, you know. Your comfort zone is what we play by, Rogers."

Steve leaned into the touch a moment, relishing in it, savoring it, because he didn't know how long it would last. "Have you ever had sex with a man before?" He gritted out, before he gasped at the sensation.

"I think we need a flat surface now."

The question should have made him uncomfortable because of the implication that they were going to bed down together with such intimacy. He shifted a little, but he pushed away the idea that it could be much different than it would be with a dame. Kissing had been the same, right? "No, but... how different can it be from a dame, yeah? Have you?"

He suspected he knew the answer already, but it was probably safer to ask than to guess and possibly be surprised later when he encouraged Steve to be the aggressor.

Steve snorted softly, and kissed him fully. "Yeah it's different, but no I have never gone all the way before." He contemplated talking more.

"I have experimented on myself though?" He said with a blush. " are you really sure?"

The fact that Steve had to clarify 'all the way' made him wonder what his friend had been doing when he wasn't looking or taking care of Steve during the bouts of illness. "Just how far have you gone with someone else?"

He couldn't help but grin at the idea of self-exploration, pushing Steve's shirt off. "I'm sure curious about this self-exploration as much as I am about everything else right now. You've been keeping secrets, Stevie."

Steve grinned, as he pushed James on the bed, and quickly followed him, striping off his shirt as he went. "Mostly kissing and touching and stuff. I had to be careful you know?" He whispered.

"Not from you pal, never from you," He whispered. "I just thought you wouldn't want to know?"

"I can understand," he replied with a nod. Liking other men was frowned upon, and it was subject to great disgust and dislike by those around them, he knew. They were taking a risk in doing this at all, but people knew they were best friends. What was a little apparent rough housing as long as it didn't happen to often and they stifled any moans of pleasure, right? "You're going to have to show me these skills of yours because I've been walking around blind about them."

He lay on the bed, running his hands up Steve's all too obvious ribs affectionately. "Why wouldn't I want to know? Nothing you could do would turn me off."

Steve knew that what they were doing was dangerous, and he probably should get his head examined, but the only thing that he wanted in this world was this man in his arms.

He didn't really give a shit if that sounded Cheesy or not.

He smirked, looking down. "You willing to let me teach you?"

James found it very funny that Steve offered to teach him intimacy, but it was just too good of an opportunity to pass up. He just couldn't, and he smiled up at Steve.

"Yeah, show me your skills there, big guy," he teased before blowing a kiss at Steve.

"Do you doubt that I have skills lover?" Steve said brazenly. He didn't know how much longer he would have this, so he fully intended on taking advantage.

He cupped Bucky's cheek, and kissed him slowly, reverently. He didn't want a frantic coupling, not this time, not with him. He wanted to savor.

"Well, lover, I haven't seen them yet, so I admit to being a little skeptical," he replied teasingly. He knew that Steve was keeping things from him with this whole liking him thing, but he didn't mind. It was all very exciting now that he thought about it. His little Stevie all grown up..

He leaned into the touch, slipping a hand behind Steve's head to scratch affectionately at the other man's scalp. He moaned into the kiss, using every bit of his skills to make it as good on his part as it was on Steve's. His friend was clearly learning quickly.

If Steve was nothing else. He was a quick learner, mostly because he had to be. Now, however, he was getting everything he ever wanted, and he really didn't want to mess this up.

He leaned into the touch, opening his eyes, and looking down at his beautiful friend. "How far do you want to go?"

He lounged on the bed like this was all perfectly natural and was not a potential act that would ruin the rest of their lives. His smile came easy, his fingers stroking Steve's neck still.

"I... don't know. Until it doesn't feel right anymore," he said simply.

Steve stared at James for a long time, wanting to take in every detail, every line and contour, because who knew if this would happen again. He smiled softly, and leaned down kissing his friend within an inch of his life. He was not going to waste the opportunity to touch him, to drive him to the brink of insanity, only to pull him back again.

He gave him a playful grin.

"You tell me anything you don't like okay?" He whispered against his ear before biting down on it gently.

He stilled under Steve's scrutiny, the corner of his lips pulling in a smile. Few people looked at him with as much care and intensity as Steve was doing right now, and he couldn't help but bask in the attention that he received before they were kissing again. His hand pushed into Steve's hair, messing it up purposefully.

He shudder at the bite, sliding his hand to the back of Steve's neck and caressing. "You don't have to worry about that. I know my limitations."

Steve groaned when he felt his hair being played with because God, how he loved that.... He shuddered, and started running his hands down his sides, his hands playing over the muscles.

God he wished he had muscles.

"You are beautiful you know that?" Steve whispered softly, as he pulled back.

He arched and stretched under Steve's touch, enjoying the warmth that was always produced with such things. Of course, Steve's hands were very different than he was used to, and that just added to the thrill of the moment all the same. His fingers twisted in Steve's blond hair, rubbing circles against his friend's scalp.

"Hey, that's not funny. Beautiful is what you call dames. Shouldn't I be handsome or glorious?" He smirked to show that he was joking before pulling Steve down for another kiss; who knew his friend was so kissable?

"Glorious?" Steve said with a laugh. "You can be whatever you want, you know that," He said as he was once again drawn into a kiss. Not that he minded of course, because he loved kissing Bucky.
